New Beginnings

Friends,

Now that you've all arrived home safely. Have washed all your clothes. Unpacked and maybe repacked...how does it feel? Do you miss it?

What decisions are you making for your lives that you'd like to share.

We are here, coming to closure, assessing the lessons we've learned...and missing you all.

Write and let us know how you are doing.

Peace and love,

Mary

Checking In

Hey Interns:

Just a quick word to check in and to say thanks for all the hard work you've been putting in at Camp. I've been so impressed with the way you all have begun to fit in at church and gel as a team. I hope you feel how excited we are that you are here. I am so very glad you are part of our church family this summer.

Pillows and Beddings

Mary and I went out to camp today and sorted out the beddings. There are plenty of sleeping bags for everyone, but no pillows. The choice is up to you whether you bring your own, don't use one, or buy one here. We can definitely take people to Target to buy pillows, especially since they take up so much space in suitcases. Looking forward to seeing all of you very soon!

Day of Arrival

Hello interns! For those of you flying in on Friday, I want to prepare you for what the day is looking like. Everyone's flights are fairly spread out, but not enough for it to be worth it to leave the airport. This means people should be sure to bring snacks or be prepared to buy a meal at the airport as we wait for everyone's flights to come in. Once everyone finally arrives, we will go out to camp together and Friday night dinner will be provided at camp. Looking forward to seeing all of you soon!

You're Invited

Hey Summer Interns! We're excited you are on your way.

The Young Adult group at Calvary would like to formally invite all of you down to the church for dinner Saturday, June 9th, so we can all get to know each other as the summer starts. We're planning on a showing of a couple of episodes of The Vicar of Dibley, a BBC comedy about a very strange church. (Seems appropriate as we introduce you to Calvary . . . .)

You'll hear more about details when you arrive, but please plan to be our guests at church, Saturday, June 9 at 7:00 p.m.
Safe travels; we are looking forward to meeting you all very soon!

Activities for Camp Fraser 2007

This year I'd like us to break into teams of interns that will be focused on different aspects of camp.

Here are the teams and responsibilities I am thinking of:

Water/River
- this team will be responsible for leading groups in river swimming and tubing. Since Swift Water Rescue Training is necessary, our tubing maybe limited to just the area near camp which I will show you.

Ropes
- this team will be responsible for leading groups on the ropes courses.

Arts and Crafts
- this team will be responsible for setting up the arts cabin and creating the crafts activities the youth will work on this season at camp. This year I'd like to see us do kitemaking and silk screening.

Thoughts??

Welcome to Camp Fraser

Friends,

This year to make communication even better I've decided to set up a blog for Camp Fraser.

Please feel free to post and respond to questions here. And to ask your own questions or just comment.

Thanks,

Mary A
